Celebrating Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight
Friday, September 02, 2016
Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight highlights the very best of Scottish produce from those who make and grow it, to those who cook and sell it (that's us!) We wanted to take part and really showcase our suppliers.
Scotland creates some of the finest produce in the world. That's just a fact. We love cooking with it and our guests love eating it, so it was only a matter of time before we brought you our Scottish best. For this Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight we've worked closely with our suppliers to bring Hutchesons Taste of Scotland - a celebration of home grown local food!
Our kitchens have selected some of their favourite cuts, flavours and produce to bring together our bespoke 5 course tasting menu. From our milk fed pork from the borders to juicy hand dived scallops form Shetland to Angus dry aged beef, no detail has been overlooked as we take our guests on the ultimate dining experience around Scotland! It's a showcase of our nations best and highlighting just a small selection of what our tiny island has to offer. We'd like to think we've certainly done it justice.
We start everything off with a spectacular slow braised Borders pork daube with some Charles Macleod Stornoway Black pudding and work our way through the menu touching on land, sea and everything in between for a fabulous selection of culinary delights. Expect carefully dry aged Black Angus Beef, juicy scallops and a few final flourishes from our chef.
While finishing everything off with our Dark Chocolate ganache with bramble puree and bramble sorbet would be the perfect end to any meal, our kitchen have went one step beyond with some select petit fours inspired by the Scottish countryside. A touch of heather, honey and raspberry can be expected as the ideal lift to the meal.
We'll be running our limited edition 5 course tasting menu Monday-Friday from the 3rd to the 18th of September. At £50pp, we're delighted to be able to bring the best of Scotland to Hutchesons to celebrate this years Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight!
