Ryder Cup Experience
Tuesday, September 23, 2014
As it’s Tartan Tuesday (the first day of the Ryder Cup week) we’re embracing the Ryder Cup at Hutchesons with our special Ryder Cup Experience in our private dining and meeting room and golf inspired wine selections to celebrate the best of European and American wines in our cellar.
Whatever team you're supporting during this epic golfing week, here’s our wine selections and details on our Ryder Cup experience to help you get in the golfing spirit.
Ryder Cup Private Dining
Host your own Ryder Cup party and watch all the Ryder Cup golfing action on our 60" smart TV in our Glenfarclas private dining and meeting room. Let our team serve you the best Scotch steak and seafood in the privacy of our third floor. For enquiries, please use our contact form.
Team Europe. Top golfer: Rory McIlory
Red Wine Pick… Les Tourelles de Longueville
For us, the tobacco and spice tones of this French Bordeaux make this big bodied red a must try with our Scottish beef at Hutchesons.
White Wine Pick.. A2O Albarino
Or if you’re after a floral white that pairs well with our seafood dishes, then the Albarino is your choice. From the Castro Martin estate winery on Spain’s golden coast this wine has a well-rounded, honeyed finish that is light and refreshing.
Team USA. Top golfer: Bubba Watson
White Wine Pick… Charles Smith Kung Fu Girl Riesling
Adopting self-taught winemaker, Charles Smith’ mantra; “It’s just wine, drink it.” This wine has it all with its peach, tangerine, key lime and lychee tones. Perfect match with our grilled seafood.
Red Wine Pick Charles Smith Boom Boom Syrah
Meanwhile on the red front, Charles Smith’ dark red is an explosive dark cherry bomb with dark chocolate and a lavender finish on the palette. Made from a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier it’s a crowd pleaser.
Wildcard - Hutcheson Picks
Can’t decide? Then look to Joe Bastianich - a New York restaurateur turned iconic Italian winemaker and opt for his flagship Vespa Bianco white chardonnay with wild flowers and mature pear.
Or if you're prefer a cocktail, here’s The Hutchesons WildCard. Made with sixth generation whisky distillers Glenfarclas 10 year old whisky, Drambuie and finished with apple, mint and raspberry to leave a fruity and spicy finish on the palate.
