A Reflection of our 'It Was Acceptable in the 80's' Part

After the roaring success of our swinging 60’s party, we thought we would take it up a notch with;

Hutchesons presents: It Was Acceptable in the 80’s... ‘Cos after all, most things were acceptable in the 80’s and we needed an excuse to get messy on the bank holiday weekend!

We decked out our City Grill in a sea of orange with our usual Veuve Rendezvous items. We gave it a special 80’s twist by adding plenty of disco balls, vinyl records, rubix cubes and shiny gold material that couldn’t be missed on a dancefloor back in the 1980’s!

Our resident DJ Elisha and our host, Mr James Rusk, really ensured this was an ‘all singing, all dancing’ afternoon of fun. Music from the likes of WHAM, Culture Club, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Duran Duran meant the party atmosphere was electric from the very start. Guests were served a delicious 3- course brunch meal and glasses of Veuve were being poured like there was no tomorrow. After all, we’re sure being a little tipsy at brunch was totally acceptable in the 80’s! Our CHAM-bola and other fun competitions gave guests the chance to win some Rusk and Rusk and Veuve Clicquot goodies!

After a great sing-song in the City Grill, we then moved the shenanigans down to our 158 Club Lounge where our resident DJ kept the 80’s vibes going all night long. Our now infamous Chammm-ingo game has fast became one of the main highlights of the day- it’s amazing how competitive guests become when there’s champagne to be won…

On reflection, it is very clear why these parties sell out as soon as they’re announced and why guests are now regulars to these Veuve events. There’s nowhere else in Scotland that knows how to throw a champagne brunch on a Sunday afternoon quite like we do.

What went dowN at 'The Summer of Love' party

With another one of our awesome Summer Series Party to add to the list, it's time to reflect on what was without a doubt, our biggest and greatest yet!

We transformed Hutchesons into a colourful flower power haven, with guests welcomed by a retro Volkswagen Hippie Camper Van Photo Booth before entering the all new-look City Grill. Tie die and peace signs were at the ready as the good vibes and chilled Veuve flowed!

Our resident DJ Elisha set the tone, spinning the very best from swinging 60's. Who wouldn’t want to listen to happy hits from the Beatles, whilst having a stunning 3-course Sunday brunch and a glass of Clicquot in hand!

The CHAM-BOLA giveaway was hosted by our very own James Rusk & Laura Boyd from STV,  as guests were gifted epic Veuve Clicquot and Rusk & Rusk prizes that included the winner of our  'Champagne Selfie' competition!

After the brunch,  it was time to head down to the to 158 Club Lounge for the official after party and kick off another installment of the utterly outrageous CHAMMM-INGO, with guest host Kerr Okan from the La Fontaines helping out! Our residents DJ's kept the music spinning throughout the night and our guests danced late into Sunday evening, seeing off the Merchant City Festival in serious style!

Tickets for our next event are now on sale and already in hot demand…oh, and as for the theme? Look out the leg warmers and shoulder pads, we're heading back to the 1980's...

A Look Back on our 'Rich' Picnic with Veuve Clicquot

On Thursday the 27th of July, our very ‘Rich’ Picnic in association with Veuve Clicquot marked the beginning of many exciting events to come in our new look Hutchesons City Grill, and what a night it was! Our beautiful guests indulged in some fabulous concoctions created using the stunning Veuve Clicquot Rich, including the famous Veuve Clicquot Rich Rose, using an abundance of additional fresh ingredients to mix with the bubbles, and also a creative twist with some loose-leaf tea.

The atmosphere in our freshly refurbished 158 Club Lounge was absolutely buzzing, with our guests soaking in the new look and enjoying a glass of deliciously sweet Veuve Clicquot Rich. Able to choose their own ingredients to enhance the beautiful bubbly treat, they were very much in control of how they wanted their champagne to taste, whether it be infused with cucumber or strawberries, peppers or pineapple, there was something for everyone. As the night progressed, our guests were treated to a picnic basket filled to the brim with some cheeky goodies, including fine Scottish cheeses, beautifully cured meats, along with some breads, oils & chutneys. It’s safe to say, our guests had a wonderful evening!

With another few rounds of bubbles poured, our resident DJ Elisha played us into the remainder of the night, providing some old school hits as the back drop to our own midsummer night’s dream. With the dimmed light of the 158 casting a sultry glow, our guests were swept up in its newly enhanced charm.

With our next Summer Series party coming this Sunday, we cannot wait to welcome our guests for another one of our classic rendezvous! With the summer of love on the menu, who could not be excited at the prospect of this seriously groovy twist on our 3rd Veuve Clicquot Summer Party of the season!
