What went dowN at 'The Summer of Love' party

With another one of our awesome Summer Series Party to add to the list, it's time to reflect on what was without a doubt, our biggest and greatest yet!

We transformed Hutchesons into a colourful flower power haven, with guests welcomed by a retro Volkswagen Hippie Camper Van Photo Booth before entering the all new-look City Grill. Tie die and peace signs were at the ready as the good vibes and chilled Veuve flowed!

Our resident DJ Elisha set the tone, spinning the very best from swinging 60's. Who wouldn’t want to listen to happy hits from the Beatles, whilst having a stunning 3-course Sunday brunch and a glass of Clicquot in hand!

The CHAM-BOLA giveaway was hosted by our very own James Rusk & Laura Boyd from STV,  as guests were gifted epic Veuve Clicquot and Rusk & Rusk prizes that included the winner of our  'Champagne Selfie' competition!

After the brunch,  it was time to head down to the to 158 Club Lounge for the official after party and kick off another installment of the utterly outrageous CHAMMM-INGO, with guest host Kerr Okan from the La Fontaines helping out! Our residents DJ's kept the music spinning throughout the night and our guests danced late into Sunday evening, seeing off the Merchant City Festival in serious style!

Tickets for our next event are now on sale and already in hot demand…oh, and as for the theme? Look out the leg warmers and shoulder pads, we're heading back to the 1980's...

Hutchesons present: A 'Rich' Picnic with Veuve Cliquot

To mark the launch of the newly refurbished Hutchesons, and to coincide with this years Merchant City Festival, we have once again teamed up with our friends at Veuve Clicquot to bring you another unique Champagne party!

On Thursday the 27th of July, The 158 Club Lounge will host our first ever Rich Picnic, as we indulge in Veuve Clicquot's summertime cuvées; Rich & Rich Rosé. Kicking off at 7.30pm, each table will receive their very own picnic basket filled with summertime goodies that include the finest Scottish cheese, beautiful cured meats, breads, oils & chutneys! As for the Champagne, well, we’ll be getting a little bit creative with it all as we infuse the different offerings with loose leaf tea and fruits, creating a unique concoction!

Designed to enrich the tasting experience of Champagne, Veuve Clicquot Rich is dedicated to mixology and adding that extra bit of flavour to the already beautifully crafted bubbly treat. The presence of selected ingredients: pineapple, grapefruit zest, cucumber, celery, peppers or tea, all served on the rocks and topped with Veuve Clicquot Rich, will provide a tempting explosion of flavours to excite those with an epicurean taste.

We’ll be creating our very own Midsummer Nights Dream in the newly renovated 158 Club Lounge; with bubbles, bunting and an abundance of flowers! But don’t think for a second that we’re finishing there; our Summer Party Series resident DJ Elisha will be laying down some seriously cool grooves as we swoon to our naughty little picnic!

Tickets are £35pp and can be purchased through our website or by contacting us directly on 0141 552 4050 or emailing info@hutchesonsglasgow.com

As ever, tickets to our Champagne parties are in hot demand, so don’t hesitate and book your place now!

Hutchesons set for new look this summer!

Renowned Glasgow venue, Hutchesons, is set to receive a makeover this summer as operators RUSK & RUSK seek to bolster its reputation as one of Scotland’s flagship restaurants.

Initially redeveloped into a glamorous bar & restaurant bar by owners, James & Louise Rusk, in 2014 when they took on the ambitious task of transforming one of Glasgow’s oldest and most recognised architectural icons into a marquee dining destination.

An instant hit on the cities burgeoning restaurant scene, Hutchesons has garnered a reputation as being one the most fashionable venues in the country with it’s Scottish inspired menu, unique interiors and lavish events. It’s that initial success that has inspired RUSK & RUSK to press ahead with a refresh of the concept, co-founder James Rusk explained that “for us, it’s about making sure we never rest on our laurels. Hutchesons has been a massive hit in its formative years, and in order for us to continue that success, we need to make sure we are constantly evolving with the times and we see now as the perfect opportunity to create a new-look Hutchesons”.

The restaurants in the RUSK & RUSK estate have become synonymous for their style, interior design and decor; their latest venture, The Spanish Butcher sports a modern, New York loft-inspired interior whilst legendary steakhouse, The Butchershop, is a throwback to the classic hustle & bustle of midtown Manhattan. The grandeur of the Grade-A listed building that houses Hutchesons is an exciting canvas for the group to work with, co-founder Louise Rusk describes the project as “an opportunity to further enhance what is an already gorgeous restaurant”. The new Hutchesons will feature a renovation of the main dining room which will sport the title ‘Hutchesons City Grill’, whilst the ground level Champagne bar will be transformed into ‘The 158 Club Lounge’ and will sport a stylish boutique ambience. On the subject of the motivation behind the project, Louise told us that “we will retain that special aura that Hutchesons has, whilst taking a new approach to the interiors, giving it a refreshing makeover”.

RUSK & RUSK are regularly touted as being Scotland’s authority on beef, and across their restaurants they pride themselves on serving some of the finest cuts of steak to be found anywhere in the world. Whilst Hutchesons already boasts a reputation for great steak, the new concept allows the venue to push the boundaries on their current offering by introducing a greater variation of cuts along with guest steaks sourced from the finest breeds of cattle across the world, however Scotch beef will remain the staple of the venue.

Champagne lovers also have no reason to worry, whilst the Champagne & Oyster Bar will renamed to The 158 Club Lounge, bubbles will still be at the forefront of the menu, along with a revamped cocktail list that uses ingredients such as aged rums, whiskies and sake’s to create innovative drinks. Louise Rusk is quick to point out that “Hutchesons has become the leading outlet for Champagne in Scotland, with our events and parties causing a splash as far away as London, and we’ll continue to do so. We have an affinity with Champagne, in particular Veuve Clicquot, and we’re excited to further cement ourselves as one of the UK’s leading Champagne sellers”.

The refurbishments take place over a two week period in mid-July and will be complete in time for the launch of this years Merchant City Festival on Friday July 21st, and guests can expect a number of events and parties to coincide with the re-launch.
